Luxury Retail Interior

A store designed to open quietly, and stay that way.
A luxury retailer in Sherman Oaks needed a full interior - architecture, casework, lighting, fixtures, and finishes - designed and resolved in time to hit a fixed opening date. The brief: a store that feels intentional from the first step inside, and survives the second and third visit equally well.
We designed the entire interior in a single coordinated 3D model. The owner walked the storefront, sales floor, fitting rooms, and back-of-house in VR - every casework run, every light, every finish - and signed off in 5 weeks. Build-out followed the renderings exactly.
Brand-led, not trend-led
The store had to feel like the brand the moment a customer crossed the threshold - not like a generic luxury template. We built the interior language around the brand's existing voice and customer ritual: how they merchandise, how they sell, how a return is handled. The architecture follows the operations.
Lighting designed in context, not in spec sheets
Retail lighting is a sales tool. We designed every fixture inside the digital twin - accent on hero product, ambient at the right colour temperature, shadow control on display walls - and reviewed it in photoreal renderings before a single fixture was ordered. The result: merchandise reads correctly from the door, and the store photographs as well as it lives.
One coordinated model - every trade reads from the same drawing
Architectural design, interior design, casework, lighting, and FF&E all sat inside one 3D model. The GC, millwork shop, and lighting team worked from the same source of truth. That's why the build-out happened in the timeline the owner needed - not the timeline that change orders would have created.

Sherman Oaks Retail · questions.
What was the design scope of the Sherman Oaks retail interior?
Vividly Built designed the full luxury retail interior end-to-end: architectural design and interior architecture, sales floor planning and circulation, custom casework and millwork, lighting design, fitting rooms, point-of-sale, signage and finishes, and complete FF&E specification - all resolved in a photoreal 3D digital twin before construction.
How long did it take to design the Sherman Oaks retail interior?
The full design package - every fixture, finish, light, and casework run - was resolved and signed off in 5 weeks. The owners reviewed the entire store in photoreal renderings and a full-scale VR walkthrough before construction began. Zero change orders during build-out.
Why design a retail interior in 3D before build-out?
Retail margins live and die on store experience and build-out cost. Resolving every sightline, lighting cone, casework dimension, and material in a photoreal digital twin lets the owner walk the finished store before any GC mobilizes. Brand decisions, merchandising, and lighting are all tested in context - not on a 2D plan. The result: the store opens on schedule, on brief, and without expensive in-build redesigns.
